After playing spoiler for San Francisco, the San Diego Padres came back down to Earth and lost to the Giants. This triggered an ego drop for superstar backup catcher and team captain Don Wehner. The charismatic veteran had the following remarks about the 2016 SBL season.
Wehner: "Well we came into this season knowing we were going to be a rebuilding team. Management had decided it did not have the players to compete with SF and LA. I think some of the potential utility and backup guys did a great job holding the fort and proving that we can play at a high level at times. I would like to congratulate all the playoff teams. Enjoy the glory while you can because some new teams are on the rise, namely the Padres and looks like the Pirates.
When asked why Wehner chose to be a little more respectful during this interview then he has been in the past his reply was simple.
Wehner: "Ron Burgandy asked San Diego to stay classy, and I am just doing my part"
