After a surprising run from the Wild Card to a 5th World Championship, San Francisco GM Denim Blevins was caught up with by the AP.
AP: Congrats on the fifth ring. How does it feel?
DB: It's a good feeling, to know that our hard work paid off. Now it's time to start working on defending this title, as next year will again be a struggle for the gold.
AP: What are your thoughts on losing the West, and entering as the Wild Card?
DB: Congrats to Tim and LA on a great season. He was the defending SBL champion for a reason. We caught some major injuries, and some bad statistical luck, and that happens in baseball.
AP: How do you feel about your team for responding as they did?
DB: I loved entering in the underdog role. It was nice to have no pressure on us, and just have fun! There's a famous quote. . .
"It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up."
That's our motto. We got knocked down to the Wild Card, but we answered the bell. The Giants are not going anywhere, and we will prove it on the field in 2017.
AP: Anything you would like to say to the doubters? There are plenty of people who see the Giants as a declining franchise: on it's way out.
DB: People can think whatever they want to think. We feel that we have the best minor league system in the SBL, and that the Giants are ACTUALLY a team on the rise!!!!

"It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up." The Reds get knocked on their ass every year... I lead the universe in playoff losses!
