Yes, we are in 2009, we are going to surpass many young stars in the MLB , we need to stagger the names we bring in. New - Old - New- Old.

Well most legends came from the yanks, but anyways, how bout, Nolan Ryan, Ty Cobb,Ted Williams,Joe Dimmagio,Frank Robinson, common u cant deprive SBL of the players who made baseball what it is today.

Regardless of the names, players are not created according to their actual "skills" or ratings..
For example, if I made Alex Rodriguez he could be 88-23-98..
We have criteria to fill for the amateur players, and then we slap names on them. The only thing I coordinate is their positions.

having a Ty Cobb in the game who isn't an absolute stud would be doing incredible injustice to my guys name! A suggestion might be worth hearing is implementing an all timer player if the commish would be interested. They use them in a couple leagues i'm in.... www.weaverball.comwww.cbl-baseball.comthe ruels regarding them are in the constiution/charter.

Well, seeing as I have been in charge of creating the draft pools, I definately have an opinion on this.
I agree that I don't wanna see guys like Ty Cobb as a scrub. That being said, I could possibly see adding a few old time names per pool. Maybe a Ty Cobb and a Walter Johnson at the top, maybe a Dennis Eckersley as a closer, a defensive wized like an Ozzie Smith and maybe a couple more. And then the next year I might do Nolan Ryan, Mickey Mantle, Lee Smith and Yogi Berra. Or some HOFers like Tinkers, Evers , and Chance that were known for their defense. But I'm not gonna overfill the pools, I want consistency in the league. So chances are, you will see a FEW "classic" names per pool.
Thoughts ?

that is a cool idea, as long as they are created "to par". Well as close as possible at least. I.E. pitchers pitches, PH bats as apposed to CH and SP bats regarding SLG%. I could help out with creating players close to there real self too if you need it.
