Going to Atlanta for 4 games, and St. Louis for 3 games, Cincinnati was bound to score some runs- and they did. The Reds were middle of the pack offensively until this past week. They have soared to the number 1 offensive team in the league. A league leading .266 team average, 149 team HR, trailing only Chicago who has 150... And leading the league in RBI at 421, and runs scored with 454.
Here are the staggering numbers posted this week by the Reds offense!
Player of the week 3B Atkins - 13/30 (.433) with 4 HR and 14 RBIs
Here are the rest: SS Reyes - 17/36, hitting .472! Not bad for a weeks work.... LF Pujols - 15/33 (.455) with 3 HR and 10 RBIs 2B Morgan - Only hit .257, but had 5 HR and 10 RBIs C Cirillo - 11/29 (.379), knocking 3 HR and 7 RBI CF Fowler - Hit a stellar .306 1B LaRoche - Hit .323 with 3 HR
As usual, RF seemed to be a struggle for Cincinnati.... Hunter Pence, Brandon Jones, and Juan Pierre are still battling for the rights to the starting job, but no one seems to be producing....
More to come on the Reds offense, as we watch the league leaders... Currently leading the league: Laroche(HR), Pujols(RBI) and Reyes is always a factor for the AVG, Runs, and Steals, BB......

I see the Reds making a big run in the next month, and challenging for "best record."
